Three shirts that earn hangers in late summer

Oxford, camp collar, and one knit polo. That is the rotation before fall layers take the rail.

Shirts are easy to ignore until laundry day exposes how thin the rotation is. Late August is when I restock the three that actually leave the house: a white or light-blue oxford, a camp collar in linen or washed cotton, and a dense knit polo for evenings that still run warm.

Graphic tees and performance fabrics with racing logos are not this column. Fabric you can feel in the photo is. If the collar looks floppy in the product shot, it will look worse on you after one wash.

Buy on markdown, not on impulse at full price because the email said 'last chance.' Last chance is usually last chance until next Tuesday. Confirm sleeve length; short arms and long arms both hate free returns more than they hate waiting.
