July is a strange month to talk coats, which is exactly why it works. You are not cold, so you can be honest about what you already own. List the gaps: daily jacket, dressier overcoat, something for wet mornings. Cross off anything you bought last year and abandoned.
Then wait. Fall markdowns punish panic buyers and reward people with a short list. Waxed canvas, a pile fleece, and one quilted liner cover most American autumns. A fashion trench you will wear twice does not.
When September hits and the feed fills with outerwear, return to this list. Buy one item that closes a gap. Skip the third 'good deal' that solves nothing. That discipline is the whole site in miniature.
