Footwear sales are where people overbuy. A deep markdown on a trend silhouette still sits in the closet if it hurts by block three. September's rule is two pairs that cover office, weekend, and travel days: a plain-toe or derby boot in brown or black, and a clean white or gum-sole sneaker.

Cordovan and good calf get priority when the discount is real. Fashion boots with a pointed toe and a logo plate do not. For sneakers, ignore anything you cannot wear with selvedge without looking like you got dressed in two closets.
